About Me

My name is John Thomsen. My undergraduate degree is in History from The Pennsylvania State University in 1997. In addition to my degree, I have an associate degree from The Lincoln Technical Institute in 2003. I come here with 15 years' experience in the architectural industry as a CAD Operator. Essentially, I drew buildings, visited sites and coordinated construction documents. Though not as well as I used to and among my skills, I can also speak some German. Presently, I live in my hometown of Park Ridge, NJ with my wife.

There are several hobbies I enjoy. I am an ocean liner enthusiast and build models of them in my spare time- though not as many models these days. In addition to my ocean liner hobby, I also love to see documentaries on transportation. Basically ships, planes and trains. When I got married, my wife's grandfather had 40 years with the Pennsylvania Railroad in Altoona and we shared a common interest across generations. One of the most important things I did was have him interviewed by the Altoona Railroaders' Memorial Museum. It brought a smile to both of us.

It is a pleasure in meeting all of you.

John
